Capello: Rooney Stay My Pledge

Wayne Rooney may be considered to have failed to show his best performances this season. But in the eyes of the English national team coach, Fabio Capello, Rooney remains a vital figure.

"You (Rooney) is still my main player," Capello told Rooney flattered.

Gait Rooney into the spotlight after poor performances in the last World Cup. Not only that, at club level with Manchester United, Rooney is still not sharp.

But for Capello, MU stocky striker is still regarded as key players in the squad for the Three Lions. Confidence is what makes it keep going down Capello Rooney when England met Denmark in friendly match tonight.

"He suffered ankle injury but speak assists, he has done 12 times and scored two goals last week," added Capello as reported by The Sun.

"Sir Alex (Ferguson) said he was very happy with Rooney's performances this season. He said that Dimitar Berbatov playing well this year because of Rooney's playing well. He was very helpful Berbatov," beber Capello.

But Capello has also not dismissed if he really expects Rooney sharpness back. And hope Rooney will become the coffers of goals for England will begin in a friendly match tonight.

"For a striker, scoring goals is also very important. He scored two goals against Aston Villa and it was very good for him. Rooney was important not only to Sir Alex,"added the Italian coach.
