Racing Santander Portugal Angel Fire

Racing Santander La Liga team fired manager Miguel Angel Portugal. The entrenador assessed Racing failed to lift the position of the board under the La Liga standings.

"Real Racing has reached an agreement with Miguel Angel Portugal about the cancellation of his contract," Racing said in a statement on their official site.

Portugal is the former coach of Real Madrid's junior teams. He began to deal with Racing Santander in November 2009. Tuesday, February 8, 2011, Racing president Francisco Pernia is scheduled to give a press statement about this.

Racing now in position 16 of the standings. Two levels above the relegation zone.

Entering the second half of the season 2010-2011, some managers in Europe lost his job. Steve McClaren was sacked in Wolfsburg, while Roberto Matteo fired West Bromwich.
