Academy hosts FC Dallas counterpart

Real Madrid´s academy played host to their FC Dallas counterpart on Tuesday in two exhibition matches between the Under-18 and Under-16 sides. The Whites topped the current MLS runner-up youth teams on both occasions with the U-18 winning 2-1 and the U-16 taking care of business 2-0. Real Madrid City at Valdebebas was the final stop for FC Dallas, who last Wednesday were on hand for Real Madrid's 3-0 Champions League win against Olympique Lyonnais and over the weekend attended Real Madrid's 2-1 derby victory against Atletico Madrid followed by a Santiago Bernabeu Tour visit.

In the first match of the double-header, Real Madrid's U-18 side found themselves in an early hole after Jonathan Top managed to put the ball past Ruben. Unai equalized shortly before the break and Carlos Bravo knocked in the winner on 72' as Real Madrid cruised in a comfortable second half. Later in the evening, the Whites' Under-16 team overcame a goalless first half to defeat FC Dallas 2-0.

Despite the defeat, FC Dallas U-18 head coach Francisco Molina had nothing but kind words for Real Madrid. "They gave us a run for our money. It was a very tough game. They are a very disciplined bunch." Molina subsequently commented on the highlights of the team's visit to the Spanish capital. "We were very impressed with the Champions League match that we got to watch. The Bernabeu is probably the Seventh Wonder of the World. Taking the Tour was great. Seeing the dressing rooms and setting foot on the turf was very exciting for the kids," he added.
