Gonzalo Higuain participated in Thursday's practice match against Real Madrid C and scored two goals throughout the entire 60 minutes that it lasted.
On 1 December 2010, Higuain was diagnosed with a herniated disc and one month later, on 11 January, he went under the knife to have it surgically repaired. His rehab has been a long, hard road, but Higuain finally has a smile back on his face.Earlier this week, Jose Mourinho confirmed that Pipita was back on the turf and that he looked good. During Thursday's workout, Higuain fully participated in the first team's practice match against Real Madrid C and scored two goals.
It didn't take long for the striker to beat Fernando with his speed. Active in all facets of the game, Higuain stole balls as well as provided assists. The second goal of the match was scored by Adebayor, but it was the Argentine who made the final pass. Before the half even ended, Higuain nearly scored again after receiving the ball from Pedro Leon.
Higuain discussed how he felt with Granero and Dudek during halftime, and after the restart continued to pressure on both ends of the pitch. He eventually received a pass from Granero and lobbed the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the morning. Two goals and one assist that confirm that Higuain will be a welcome addition to the squad down the home stretch of the season.
