Barcelona striker Lionel Messi was delighted to see the eternal rival, Real Madrid qualify for the last eight of the Champions League. But Messi hopes Barca not met Madrid in the quarter-finals.
In an interview with Antena 3 TV, Messi also provide predictions about the favorite teams to win the Champions League this season. Of course, one of Barca.
"I do not want to met Real Madrid in the quarterfinals, it's too early. I want to beat them in round the more prestigious," said Messi.
"Barcelona, Madrid and Chelsea are favorites to win the Champions League this season."
Striker 23 this year also warned that his team still won over Jose Mourinho's troops in the Spanish League (La Liga). "I do not know whether this be a key advantage. But, winning 5 points is very profitable. 5 points would give guarantee for us."
Argentina striker also commented on the doping issue that hit Barcelona. "We get away from it. We do not care about those issues. We have always worked hard."
"I do not know why people talk about this. But, our focus will not be disturbed. We will continue to play well."
Lottery eighth round of the Champions League will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011. If this is the Barcelona and Madrid met, then the two teams will met four times next month.
