Enthusiasts Maarten Steklenburg Ready Disappointed

Ajax is not willing to lose the best goalkeeper, Maarten Stekelenburg. Edwin van der Sar's Goalkeeper successor in the Dutch national team will be tied to a new contract at the Amsterdam Arena.

According to the player's agent, Rob Jansen, the Ajax have handed contract extensions to Stekelenburg until 2015. This news certainly makes some club who Stekelenburg enthusiasts should be prepared to be disappointed.

Dutch tall goalkeeper is one candidate replacement van der Sar in Manchester United. Apart from Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also ready to bid. While Schalke 04 became enthusiasts of the Bundesliga.

"We actually listen to what Ajax want. We have a good relationship with the club. But, Maarten clearly wanted to move to a bigger league,"said the agent told Algemeen Dagblad.

The 28-year goalie Contract will expire in the summer of 2012. But Ajax certainly do not want to lose by selling Stekelenburg sold cheap if the player rejected a contract extension from the club.

With Ajax, Stekelenburg has played in 258 games since the season 2002-2003. While in the national team, he has appeared in 40 games, including when delivering the Netherlands as the World Cup 2010 finalists last.
