Alonso: Bernabeu, Cathedral Football

Midfielder Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso has a different term to describe the grandeur of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. According to Alonso, Madrid headquarters is like a cathedral in football.

"Bernabeu is one of the amazing scenario in world football," said Alonso in Madrid's official website, Friday, March 11, 2011.

Retainer of the Spanish national team was joined Real Madrid from Liverpool in 2009. And in Madrid, Alonso could be one key player for Los Blancos.

Alonso began his career with the football club Busque, Real Sociedad. Interestingly, the rivalry the two clubs have been ingrained with a club like Madrid, and Catalonia club kind, such as  Barcelona.

Although tinged with sentiment territory, but Alonso could blossom into idol Madrid fans. Madridistas seemed to forget the origin of Alonso and consider it like a native Madrid player.

"You know, you have been in a cathedral of football while being here (Bernabeu). The atmosphere was amazing when you play good football because the fans really admire. They are very eager to know when we play," he concluded.
